Vertical Sterilizer
This technology has been around for quite some time but its use has been limited to mills of small capacities of less than 10tph. It was only until recently that interest in this technology was revived, with Sime Darby Berhad building its Hadapan Mill in Johor and Perlis Plantation Berhad with its mill in Sampit, Indonesia.
Our adoption of this technology was based on the belief that the heat transfer between steam and the fresh fruit bunches is better in a vertical sterilizer, thereby improving the sterilization effect on the FFB. This is a key component in palm oil milling for optimal oil extraction. We were confident that the documented and well known problems associated with vertical sterilizers such as blockages at the fruit discharge outlets, oil loss in condensate and EFB due to compaction and throughput problems were surmountable through present day engineering solutions.
Our mill no longer required the normally extensive space for a marshalling station/yard with the associated rail tracks, transfer carriages, FFB cages, hydraulic winches, tippler, and elaborate conveying structures.

Kernel Extraction & Recovery
Our kernel extraction and recovery system is primarily based on the compact dry air separation system in particular for the:
- Nut and fiber separation to separate the nuts from the fiber;
- Destoner for stone removal; and
- Crack mixture (CM) separation to separate the dirt and shell from the kernel
Our nut crackers are called Rolek Nutcrackers, manufactured by Hur Far Engineering with support and research back-up by MPOB. This particular type of nut cracker was chosen for its high cracking efficiency as part of our efforts to produce premium quality kernel for the local livestock feed industry.
The mixture of broken kernel together with dirt and shell from the CM outlet are separated using the combination of hydro-cyclone and claybath systems for the final recovery of kernel.

Oil Extraction & Recovery
In conventional mills hot water is added at the press to dilute the press liquor. Our oil extraction and recovery system requires some hot water dilution.

However, the oily condensate produced from sterilization process is pumped to the crude oil gutter to the maximize oil recovery. This system essentially comprised two vibrating screens, a mini-clarifier, a sludge oil tank, a two stage de-sanding cyclone, a decanter, a pure oil tank and a centrifugal oil separator.
